Free MP3 Music Store
Sell downloadable mp3s with our free componet for Joomla. Joomla is a very popular open source content management system and drives many website on the web. There is no need to learn how to write code and you can get your website up and running in less than a week. Why pay Itunes and other third party distributors when you can keep all of your profit using Paypal. You can also implement micro-payments if you expect most of your sales to be below $10. Paypal charges $.05 + 5%, so for a .99 cent download you keep .90. So why not give Maian Music a chance, you will be glad you did.
Thanks to everyone who has been using the bug tracker to submit bugs they find during this beta release. A special shoutout to sephira for going though this component with a fine tooth comb and for giving a lot of good feedback. I’m using a phased approach in developing this software and I have updated zip file to version 1.3.1. Be aware that this is this is still a beta release and there might still be some issues that have not been addressed. After some griping from previous users I have decided to include the navigation from the previous release. I updated the settings so you can choose to show it our not. It is best to backup your tables manually and re-install this component. The backup function from the previous version has issues not bring that tracks data over. That is fixed now and all future release should be smooth enough to upgrade without having to go through the backend and fidget with phpMyAdmin. I’m eventually going to bring a lot of the features from David’s 1.3 version of the stand alone into this component as well.
I have updated the issue tracker so that you won’t have to create an account to submit a bug. I figure it is the best way to get the most feedback for the beta release. For those who’s server are configured for php4 your going to have to hold out a bit longer because I coded this component in a php5 environment and some of the functionality will caue the front-end not to work so be patient and I will eventually get it working. As far as support for the legacy componet please consider making a donation if you want me to access your backend or help you in debuging your issues.
Calling all beta testers Maian Music 1.3 Beta is now ready for download. There have been some people that have downloaded it already and have provided feedback however I don't feel it is stable yet. I have created an issue tracking site at http://support.aretimes.com. So if you find any errors please create a profile and post it there and not in the support forum. David has also updated the stand alone version and the two are somewhat in sync however there are features that he has that I don’t and vice versa. Eventually I will incorporate a lot of his features into the joomla version. I really haven't listed all of the enhancements becuase my brain hurts but I will eventually.
I would like to thank the few that made donations to this cause and that have left reviews on joomla.org. If it wasn't for my wack 9 to 5 and the crappy economy I would probably do this full time however open source doesn’t pay the mortgage yet. I plan on coming out with a pro version once this component is stable just to raise some money for me and David to keep working on this thing. Thanks again to everyone who made this possible. Also if you speak another language and you want to help out I will post the new language file as well for translation. For your efforts you get a credit in the backend and a link to your website. Well that's it I'm looking foward to the comments.
*Note: If your systems is using PHP4 then you will need to re-download the component as I using code to declare classes that was specfic to PHP5
