Looch's Mix Tape -- Free Testers

On January 1st 2009 Lamar Anthony Pierce A.K.A Looch was murdered in his home in Washington, D.C at the age of 23. He leave's behind his 4 year old daughter Zaria. His music was a reflection of the conditions he was brought up in. Since I met and started working with him I saw a change in the man. I was trying to show him that there was a glimmer of hope in the world and that we could make positive music. He was in the process of finishing his next album titled Determination. Most of the songs were finished however it was not yet completed. In keeping with his wishes I will finish what he started and put his album out for the world to hear. All proceeds will go to his daughter and their family.

I know most of the people that visit this site might not be into Hip-Hop because of the abrasive language however for some it is the only outlet they have to channel their anger. This tragedy has really made me reflect on my place in this world. I realize I can’t help everyone but I want to at least empower people to believe in themselves. This was one of the main reasons I integrated Maian Music with Joomla and provided it with support free of charge. I am in the process of upgrading to 1.5 but the new MVC framework had a bit of a learning curve and this tragedy has slowed but not stopped my efforts.

It really said that the capital of one of the most powerful nations in the world is ridden with so much crime that in the 90’s it was labeled the murder capitol. With a new administration coming into power I hope they can do something about the violence that has plagued this city for so long. Though Obama is going to be the first black president I really don’t expect him to do much for the poor black youth in America. Not because he doesn’t want to but I believe the power of the president only reaches so far. In closing I want to thank all of those who have given my software and music a chance. I will continue to achieve and carry on the memory of my man Looch.

A couple of months have gone by since the last update.  Once again I would like to thank everyone who has downloaded the component and has been patient enough to report any errors that they have run into.  I am aware of some of the bugs that are still lingering in this component.  They will be squashed in due time.

The development of the 1.5 native is going pretty slow since I have had some other commitments.  But I will have this configured for 1.5 with some enhancements based upon the feedback I have received.  My end goal is to eventually integrate with community builder but I have run into some pit fall but this is still in the design phase.  One major breakthrough is that paypal now offers micro-payments .  One of the users here at aretimes let me in on this.  Basically if your selling anything less than $10 mico-payments will be the way to go.  You only pay a 5% transaction fee + 5 cents.  I don’t think you can beat that anywhere else.  This will make the integration with community builder all worth while.  So selling a track for .99 will give you about 90 cent profit!!!!

With all that has been going on lately I have still stayed true and found time for my number one passion music.
